Queen Elizabeth's School for Boys, Barnet
| This is Queen Elizabeth's Grammar School for Boys in High Barnet, Hertfordshire, where I served what seemed at the time an interminable sentence from 1954-59. I took the picture in 2000. The bit you can see here is pretty much all there was when I was there but it has been greatly extended to the rear since then. It is descended from a school founded in 1573. The original Tudor building, near Barnet Church, is still there. |
