Bistort / Snakeweed / Llys y neidr / Neidrlys / Persicaria bistorta
Flowers June - August
The name 'bistort' means 'twice-twisted' and refers to the shape of the root. The alternative name 'snakeweed' refers to the same characteristic. It's not very common and is almost rare in the South-east of England. I found this specimen by the side of a lane in Leicestershire. |
