This picture, sent in by Roger Nolan, must be from the late '50s, as some of the extensions are in place, but the Gun Field has not yet been entirely swallowed up.

Also, Alan Pyle came across this aerial shot of the school from 1948 on the 'Britain from Above' website. Alan himself started at the school in that year.
