Michael Vinson sent this picture of the choir of St. Mary's Church, East Barnet, around 1946. Michael says there is a fair sprinkling of QE boys and one (Martin Gould) who was not a pupil but went on to become an assistant master. Michael gives the first three boys in the front standing row, reading from left to right, as Robin Wraith (House Captain Underne), John Hobson and Alan Storkey (all pupils). The fourth lad (with the very dark hair), he says is Martin Gould, with his brother Graham standing behind him over his left shoulder. Kenneth Marks has commented: "Also in this picture is a pal of mine, David Herring, sadly no longer with us. He was in Leicester 1947-1954, and went on to become Head of Classics at, I think, Liverpool College. He's the wee boy in the back row on the right, with his head slightly tilted."
