This !971 picture was kindly sent in by
Nick Dean, who was House Captain that year. Nick says that the photo was taken by Martin Gould, just before Christmas, on one of the tennis courts next to the Gun Field. He thinks that it was the only such photo in his time. The idea, he says, arose at lunch just after that year's
prefect photo (already in the museum) had been taken. He recalls Sid Clark helping him to purloin the Harrisons cups from the cabinet at the back of the hall. He's not sure what they'd done to deserve them, but one of them was for chess.
Nick can name the senior group the seated in the third row as: Colin Sherwood, Chalky White, himself, David Lowe (Asst HM), BJP, Mr Harlow (Asst HM), Adrian Haberberg, David Tibbs and Richard Lewis. Lowe and Harlow were newly appointed as Bernie's assistants, and it was Harlow's first term at the school.
