Roger Nolan has discovered that the address of EH Jenkins while he was headmaster of QE Boys (1931-60), was 12 Dinsdale Gardens, New Barnet. (Although the Google tag says '7' number 12 is shown). EHJ got the bus to school every morning and those Boys who lived in the area during that period used to talk about trying to avoid queueing at the same stop or getting on the same bus, for fear of being told off - even punished, for some or other crime of dress or deportment. I must say the house is a bit of a surprise. I would have expected some Victorian Gothic pile, of which there are (or were) plenty in that area.
