This is the San Jacinto Stompers at the Hobbies Exhibition in (probably) 1958. The picture was kindly sent in by Malcolm Walton, who gives the line-up as follows:
Left to right: Malcolm himself, Peter Duffy (deceased), Ferd Fitt (deceased), Peter Bailey, Rick Smith, Kelvin Hopkins (now M.P. for Luton North).
I was happy in the thought that I was entirely alone in the whole school in liking traditional Jazz at that time. Had I attended the Hobbies Exhibition I would have made the not altogether pleasing discovery that it was not so!
