ONLINE MUSEUM: John Hagger at the Wood Street Tudor buildings, 1905 or 1906
John Hagger at Tudor Hall

Mike Hagger provided this photo of a postcard, on which the postmark is 17th April 1906. It shows his grandfather John Hagger leapfrogging another boy in the Quad at Tudor Hall, the original QE Boys building in Wood Street. Mike thinks the sender of the postcard must have been a master at the school, as the message on the card reads: "You shall have the photo of the School XI and of the All Blacks before long".

Mike adds the information that the first major All Blacks tour to the UK was in 1905 and that they played five times in London. He thinks that the boys may have been taken on a trip to one of the games. The results of that tour, provided by Mike and available on request, show that not a single point was scored against the All Blacks during the London tour!
