ONLINE MUSEUM: Rex Moore 'Winkie' Wingfield 1925-2013

RM 'Winkie' Wingfield, Latin master in the 1950s, is remembered by your webmaster with great affection. That's partly because his moral instruction ("the only crime is getting caught" and "there ain't no justice, laddie") shone white with honesty in my eyes, and partly because I was one of his favourites. That was no doubt a result of my choosing to do brilliantly well in Latin, just because I liked the man, while doing very badly in everything else. The pic was sent in by Mike Cottrell, who says the picture was taken over New Year 1961-62, in Colle Isarco, on a skiing trip.
