I hope Vic you have thought about the succession of the site, should you disappear, not that I wish you dead at all.

Well, none of us knows what's just around the corner, of course, but I'm not seriously anticipating the Pearly (or more likely, in my case, the Other) Gates just yet ! Good point, though. This site would pose a bit of a problem for anyone else, insofar as it's somewhat eccentric: I do all the XHTML code manually and put up all the messages manually. It's not the way things are done any more, as people use code-writing software and automated message boards - or just abandon it all for Facebook. Another site I set up and ran - the official site of RAM, the life models' society - caused the unfortunate person who took it over several months of hard work before she managed to convert it to a 'modern' website. I doubt that anyone would want this site in its present form.

Well I hope that something may be worked out. Perhaps a new site may be set up but by who? - someone as yet unknown. I have not seen any thanks given anywhere for your hard work over such a long period and I am sure I speak for many in saying thank you for the site and the work involved, though no doubt you enjoy it as well.

Many thanks for your kind words of recognition, James. However, I should point out that most of the regular contributors have expressed their appreciation at one time or another, but mostly in private messages. There are a few public messages of support here and there on the site, if I remember rightly. Yes, I do enjoy it, but I have to confess that it's really the messages of appreciation, whether public or private, that keep me at it!
