Biology field trips, early 1960s: image 3 of 5
Chris Mungovan supplied this photo of a biology trip in the early '60s. Martin Reeves has added the information that it was in April / May 1964 and that the photo was taken by biology master Eric Crofts, who organised the trip. It was taken a few days before or after the next photo, on the mudflats of the Dyfi / Dovey estuary, just up the coast from Y Borth / Borth. Martin says the 'usual suspects' (named in the other photo) can be seen, along with Prof Jones of Aberystwyth University, who is either explaining the Yapp lines [see thread 32, reply 82] or examining a mudlarking find.
Martin feels sure that Mike Cottrell, Chris Mungovan or others can help in naming the unknowns in the photos and make any necessary corrections. We could, he thinks, be near to naming the whole party who took part in that trip 50 years ago this year.
