Roger Nolan and
Derek White (who kindly contributed the photo) have between them supplied many of the names. Roger's contribution is:
Front row, from left to right: 3rd, John Walsh. 4th, Martyn Taylor. 6th, Roger Nolan. 8th, Robert Hayter. 11th, Phil Theaker. 13th, possibly Alan Knights. 17th, Nick Causebrook. Roger says that Nick eventually became School Captain (1966-67) but tragically died shortly after leaving school.
The one boy not in the front row that Roger thinks he can identify is the one at the right-hand end of the 4th row. He thinks this is Tony Cave.
Derek suggests:
Back row (L-R):
1 Worsley?. 4 Poupard, 7 Pettit? 8 Guy, 9 Wall, 11 Cheeseman, 12 Bennett, 13 MacFarlane? 16 MN Smith (doing a 'Poker'), 17 Pratt.
He also offers: 3rd row from the front, seated:
1 Walker, 2 Puxley? 3 Horton, 4 Edwards, 5 Carss, 6 Caperon? 7 Caldwell, 8 ??? 9 Boyne, 10 Brown, 11 Martin, 12 Ransome, 13 Price, 14 Costin, 15, Upsdale,
16 'Albert', 17 White, 18 (Hidden) D P Smith, 19 Sherlock, 20 Price, 21 Miles, 22 Daulis, 23 Coyle?
Gordon Hassell has identified Dave Say as being 7th from the right in the 2nd row.
Roger is fairly certain that the picture was taken in the early Autumn of 1960, together with the
Underne and
Stapylton and
Leicester photos. He suggests they may have been part of a set which was a valedictory gift to Jenkins who was about to retire as Head. Does anyone have the Harrisons one from that set?
